Ultimate Relaxation

Reading Time: 4 Minutes

There is nothing quite like a little 'Me time'. The opportunity to really unwind, relax and let the stress of the day sink away. With busy jobs, plenty of never-ending life admin, other people to look after and the constant nag of 'whats for dinner' ringing out, it can be near impossible to find time or remember to fill your own cup.

Looking after your mental health looks different for everyone and we all relax in different ways. Some will like a long run or intense sweat session at the gym, while others will find their me-time looks a lot more sedentary - laying back for a hydrating facial or a soak in a hot tub, and some may find they unwind by baking or cooking a new dish with a cold glass of wine in hand.

Whilst we know it is easier said than done, try to prioritise making time to look after yourself, even if just for an hour and we can almost guarantee you will feel better for it. No matter how you relax, we have rounded up some ideas of great ways to indulge yourself in a little moment of zen.

The Zen Chef

Find a new recipe and take the time to source your ingredients, pour a glass of wine, and enjoy the methodical process of working through the steps. Shop some of our new cooking and kitchen favs below.

The Spa Day

Book yourself in for a soothing facial or relaxing massage and feel your worries melt away. There is nothing quite like slipping into the warm blankets at a spa and letting someone work on those problem areas for you. If a trip to the spa isn't on the cards, make your own at home spa; try a nice long soak in the tub with some scented bath salts, a hydrating face mask and some relaxing music playing in the background.

The Active Relaxer

If working up a sweat is your favourite way to zone out, why not try out a new workout class at Studio Box or swim a few laps and hit the steam sauna at The Olympic Pools. If running is your thing or you love a long brisk walk, why not treat yourself to some new gear and pound the pavement with a good podcast.

The DIY artist

If getting crafty, or making something is more up your alley, why not try a painting class at Pinot and Picasso. Choose the art you'd like to replicate and enjoy turning your hand to something new with a glass of wine in hand. If you prefer to do your own thing, grab a canvas, some clay or art supplies from Gordon Harris and create your own masterpiece, or build a replica with a kit from The Warehouse.
