Saben and Dermalogica EmpowHER scholarship

Reading Time: 3 Minutes

Saben and Dermalogica have teamed up to celebrate, support and uplift kiwi women with an incredible opportunity for business owners.

A chance encounter with Saben's designer Roanne and Dermalogica's New Zealand distributor Natasha Bourke resulted in deep conversation about the highs and lows of business and the challenges they had both faced over the years. This led to a moment of clarity, and on International Women's Day 2023, the EmpowHER scholarship was announced.

Working together and powered by The Icehouse, female funded businesses will have the opportunity to apply for a $10,000 grant to help take their businesses to the next level, supported with mentoring from Saben and Dermalogica NZ head offices. The recipient of the EmpowHER $10,000+ scholarship will be announced on April 18th 2023; and will receive a $5k financial cash boost; a tailored mentoring program at Saben & Dermalogica head office; a The Icehouse ‘Taking your business forward’ 3-month course plus Dermalogica skin care and a Saben bag (both valued at $500 each).

The four runners up will receive a $2,500 valued grant each, and either The Icehouses’ ‘Financial Skills’ and ‘Sales Skills’ workshops (valued at $2,007 each) plus a $250 Dermalogica/Skintopia voucher and a $250 Saben voucher.

This money can’t buy opportunity allows the EmpowHER winner to tap into different aspects of each business’s expertise specific to their business needs.

Roanne adds, “Not everyone is given the same opportunities, and this grant might be a game-changer for someone with the drive and passion to succeed, giving them the right tools and financial boost to take their business to the next level.”

The winner will receive a $5k financial cash boost, a three month course from The Icehouse, and product from Saben and Dermalogica valued at over $1,000.

Submissions are now open for female-founded business owners to apply for the scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship, the business must be between 1-3 years old, and in the enterprise stage of development with estimates turnover between $1-$4m
