There is always room for ice-cream when it's Duck Island Ice Cream, the Newmarket parlour sits pretty in pink, and scoops up premium quality ice cream served with house-made waffle cones or cookies. They have all the classics, but are known for their outrageous but unbelievably tasty flavour combinations, think raspberry coconut coriander or blackberry sage and honey!

Best Ugly Bagels serves exactly that - the best bagels! Hand rolled and wood fired, with a selection of sweet and savoury topping options, they are the perfect grab-and-go comfort food (although if you do dine in, sit outside and enjoy the fire). We highly recommend the King Salmon- smoked King salmon, cream cheese, capers, dill, onion and lemon juice!

If you haven’t been to Burger Burger, have you even been to Auckland? Home to arguably Auckland’s best burgers, the popular eatery has become an icon of happy tummies in Newmarket. Nestled in Osborne Lane, it’s ideal for that midweek team lunch or a burger before the movies. We can’t go past their potato skins!

The newest addition to Newmarket’s ever- growing eatery stable, The Candy Shop is the brainchild of three friends and the teams behind Major Sprout and Simon & Lee. A modern take on Kiwi food with a Korean twist, the eatery is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is already featuring regularly on social media feeds. They serve a bit of everything from decadent pancakes with candy floss, to their famous Korean Fried Chicken!

Once a hole-in-the-wall coffee shop, Camper Coffee, is now an extension of The Candy Shop, and can be found nestled just behind its bigger counterpart. The coffee here is some of Newmarket’s best; paired with one of their in-house baked treats, it’s a match made in heaven.

Known for its epic bacon and pork belly sandwiches, The Hungry Swine is a must-visit while in Newmarket. Our favourite pick is the French Roll, made with truffle dijon mayo, red onion, Swiss cheese and roquette. For $14 a roll, you can't beat it!
