Jumper for Jumper; One brands mission to knit 3000 jumpers this winter

Most of us are extremely privileged to head into winter with plenty of warm layers to fight the chills. 1 in 10 Kiwi kids face a very different winter ahead, without access to basic needs like warm clothing, and one New Zealand brand has made it their mission to change that.

Jumper for Jumper

Standard issue have announced the return of their Jumper for Jumper initiative in partnership with Middlemore foundation, with an extra special goal of knitting 3000 jumpers by the end of this winter.

Last year, 1 in 10 Kiwi kids went without basic essentials, having something warm to wear on a cold day should be accessible for all, and Standard Issue are making that a priority. Standard Issue CEO Emma Ensor says

"We're determined to help keep as many of our tamariki as warm as we can through the cooler months. Access to everyday necessities and a means to keep warm will help these children combat the cold and preventable illnesses."

So the brand has decided once again to partner with Middlemore Foundation to knit, and gift a woollen children's jumper to a child in need, for every Standard Issue jumper purchased online and in-store this winter.

The jumpers are crafted in their Tāmaki Makaurau workroom with zero-waste, warmth and longevity in mind. Below are a few of our favourite peieces included in the Jumper for Jumper initiative, but if you already have your knitwear sorted, you can opt to gift a jumper for only $30 - the easiest way to ensure our tamariki have something warm to wear this winter.
