We caught up with Chloe Zara Munro, owner and entrepreneur of Chloe Zara Hair, to unveil secrets for protecting your hair, products we need to be using and the best ways to maintain healthy hair. Along with being a new-time mum, Chloe has continued to grow her brand into a reputable business for all things haircare. With a cult following, there's no one more qualified to teach us about maintaining sun safety for our hair.
Can you give us a little rundown on Chloe Zara and how it came to be today?
After hairdressing for almost two decades, I knew I wanted to create a bio-led, natural haircare range. When I was working in the salon I found there was a gap in the market and a real need for a range of New Zealand made products that truly focused on building the overall health of both the scalp and hair.
Chloe Zara Hair has a unique bond of Green Beauty Science for unparalleled hair health. I took inspiration for Chloe Zara Hair from skincare practices, recognizing the importance of treating the scalp with the same care as our skin. I really believe that a healthy scalp is the foundation for beautiful, vibrant hair.
We all know about the detrimental effects of the sun on our skin, but how does it similarly affect our hair?
The sun can cause many damaging effects to our hair, as it weakens your hair’s protein structure. You will notice strands will become dry, brittle and knotty, which can ultimately lead to breakage. If you colour your hair the sun can depilate the colour resulting in it fading rapidly.
