While we can’t go to Italy this year, Italy is coming right to our backyard instead! Festival Italiano is returning to Newmarket on Sunday 8th November for a day of music, food, design and Italian culture.
The Italian Festival season in Auckland has begun and will continue until 29th November with a host of Italian-themed events throughout the city, with the most highly anticipated Festival Italiano kicking off in Newmarket on the 8th November, 11am until 5pm. The festival will run through Osborne Street, Kent Street and The Rialto Centre which will all be closed off to traffic making it pedestrian friendly.
From artisan cheeses to Aperol Spritz, the streets will be bustling with market stalls with all kinds of Italian bits and bobs. Street food vendors will be serving up a taste of Italy all day long - think wood-fire pizza, pasta, gnocchi, gelato and tiramisu to name just a few, so we recommend coming hungry!
Along with a wide range of al fresco dining and eating areas, there will be live music and entertainment, plus plenty to keep the kids occupied with a specialty kids pavilion and spot prizes.
