This month, Deuce Sneakers have reached a milestone in raising $1million for Kiwi kids through an amazing initiative called the Young Hearts Project. Since the project’s inception in 2014, $5 from every pair of shoes sold* is donated to the initiative. The funds raised are then passed on to its giving partners Great Potentials, Youthline and the Graeme Dingle Foundation. The Young Hearts Project was born out of a desire to help all young New Zealanders reach their potential and to directly empower, mentor, support and inspire Kiwi kids.
“Too many of our young people struggle with the challenges of life” says Shane Anselmi, Overland Footwear Group Director. “The statistics here in NZ aren’t good when it comes to many of our young people coping with these challenges, but we felt we had the opportunity to make a difference.”
“Our Deuce sneakers are flying out and we’re proud of the progress we’ve made” says Anselmi. “Not only are they designed here in NZ and feature an amazing comfortable hi-tech foot-bed, but the fact that every time we sell a pair we can in some way make a difference to someone in need is a big driver for our people.”
“This month marks a milestone. Over the last four years we’ve sold over 200,000 pair of Deuce and passed the $1 million mark. I really want to thank all our customers for their support and generosity… they are making a real difference to many lives.”
Working with three key giving partners, Youthline, the Graeme Dingle Foundation and Great Potentials ensures that the funds are utilised to support those most in need with programmes that focus on mentoring, emotional support and value-based learning.
To celebrate reaching this momentous milestone, and to thank their customers, Deuce will be gifting 15% off all purchases* for today, Thursday 1 February, while also doubling all donations to the Young Hearts Project.
