Reading Time: 3 Minutes
Good morning! I always try to wake early and go for a morning run, walk or exercise class. I find it is necessary for my mind.
Two days in the workroom are never the same, but a constant is coffee, and then straight into emails, emails, emails - from stylists, fabric suppliers and everything in between.
Internal meeting time. Today it’s a catch-up with Juliette and the production and sampling team to check in on progress of production for our AW2020 collection and sampling our collection for SS2020. With a relatively small team, I find I’m involved in some way across most areas of the business - so this could be an update with what is happening with upcoming marketing activity, shoots and events or touching base with the retail team.
We spend lunchtime together as a team at our gorgeous big dining table, 12 o’clock on the dot! We are creatures of habit around here.
Juliette and I spend time working on design most days for a couple of hours. We have a great relationship where we can bounce ideas off each other - talking through fabrications, print designs, and the creative direction for upcoming collections. We have just finished designing
our SS2020 collection and Lily (our amazing sample-machinist) is completing a few pieces each day. This is one of my favourite times in the season as the collection begins to take shape. I feel lucky to work for, and learn from someone whose attention to detail is exceptional - from fine tuning silhouettes, finding the perfect drape in a fabric or most importantly, that exact shade of cream.
Back at my desk to work through that inbox - planning for upcoming shoots, organising model castings, media sample requests, research and development for some new exciting lines and generally having about 1000 tabs up at one time, (yes, I am one of those people!).
Home time.
I love to end the day catching up with my nearest and dearest, whether that is going for a walk or heading out for dinner and drinks, or a Facetime to my besties living on the other side of the world.
If I am reading a good book, I will be straight into it as soon as I hop into bed, otherwise it’s Netflix! My current favourites would have to be anything by Phoebe Waller Bridge.
Sweet dreams.
