BID Programme, AGM & Meetings

BID PROGRAMME

Newmarket Business Association (NBA) is a registered incorporated society which is governed by an elected executive committee representing the business association registered members. NBA is also part of Auckland Council’s BID Programme. There are 50 BIDs across Auckland. A BID is a Business Improvement District. Any commercial building within our specified boundary ie, commercial area - town centre, industrial area, or a combination – is designated for a BID Targeted Rate Grant. The Council collects this BID Targeted Rate Grant on our behalf and transfers it back to the business association each quarter. NBA represents, supports and helps over 3,000 business and commercial property owners. We use the BID Targeted Rate Grant for Marketing, Events, Security, Activations and Special Projects. As an Incorporated Society, the NBA falls under the governance of a constitution. Click here to read the constitution.

What is a BID Programme?

Local business and property owners have agreed to work together to provide value to the collective business community by delivering a suite of economic activities. Auckland Council supports business associations operating BID Programmes as set out in the Council BID Policy 2022.
