Westfield's Crane Name Unveiling

Reading Time: 1 Minute

Westfield Newmarket recently ran a competition enlisting the help of year one students from local schools to name the cranes onsite at the Westfield development. The public were then able to vote for their favourite names submitted by primary school students.

Over 600 public votes later, Newton Central School took out the leaderboard with the names 'Lightning and Sharko', and Remuera Primary School were lucky enough to pick up the Scentre Group vote with the name 'Captain Craneky.'

This week, year one students from Newton Central School and Remuera Primary put on their hard hats and high-vis vests to head on site and officially unveil the crane with a flag bearing their winning names at the Crane Naming Ceremony, before each receiving their prize of $500 worth of school equipment.
