If the mysterious voyage that is 2020 has taught us anything, it is certainly to ‘take things as they come’ which is why twenty-seven names aptly named their Spring collection after this quote. Launching on the first day of Spring, twenty-seven names have yet again created a whimsical collection of gorgeous ready-to-wear pieces to see in the warmer weather.
With an eye to their favourite Simpsons episode, Rachel and Anjali of twenty-seven names followed the tortoise, talked to a space coyote, ate a five-alarm chilli and ending up looking through their own looking glass in a purple haze to create this collection which invites you to take “a little psychedelic moment”.
While Covid-19 has profoundly impacted how businesses have been able to operate, co-founder and designer Anjali Burnett remains grateful and positive: “there’s nothing like a wild ride to help you appreciate what you have – so in this moment of clarity, we’re pouring all our efforts into designing and making things we truly love. We have had to slightly postpone our spring drop, but luckily as we’re made here in New Zealand, we’re still making things the way we always have.”
The beautiful Spring collection gives off seventies vibes; flares, collars, purple gingham prints, daisies and bright colours. Anjali speaks of The Avalon dress being her favourite of the whole collection, speaking to a “frivolity in dressing” that she has been missing.
