No matter the time of day, there always seems to be room for a little sweet treat, in fact, there is a Japanese term 'betsubara' which means seperate stomach, where your brain overrides that full feeling to make space for a sweet reward, and Newmarket is home to the best of the best.
When it comes to dessert, Newmarket has every option you could dream of, the hardest part will be choosing which one to visit first, so slip on some stretchy pants, and make your way through the list of our favourite places for a little sweet treat in Newmarket.
If you haven't visited Atmosphere yet, you're missing out. From delicious crepes and waffles, to Acai bowls, Dutch pancakes and warm chocolate brownie and soft serve, there is something for everyone here - the perfect option for groups who all want something different.
Remuera Rd
Step into PANDA on Nuffield street and say hello to the fluffiest soufflé pancakes around. Alongside these cloudlike desserts you'll also find delicious Bingsu (shaved milk ice), Milk puddings, sweet soups and cold drinks.
We can't go past the Chocolate Oreo Soufflé for a decadent late night sweet treat - yum!

Nobody does cupcakes better than Petal Cupcakes. The moist cupcakes are topped with a generous swirl of flavour-packed icing really takes the cake. With flavours like Hawkes Bay Peach, Ginger Kiss and Double espresso, a visit to Petal Cupcakes is always a good idea.
Teed Street
Create your own sweet dessert masterpiece at Shibbys self serve premium frozen yoghurt and acai.
Choose your favourite flavours and then top with a range of fresh fruit or delicious sweets like fudge brownie and cookie dough, before finishing with a range of sauces - including their iconic pistachio or Nutella on tap!

Home of New Zealand's first Tiramisu Bar - Chocomelt is the ultimate stop for Tiramisu lovers. Alongside the classic, they have created a range of flavours, like strawberry rose, pistachio and biscoff all lined up in their chilled bar.
They also have authentic Greek frozen yoghurt, and frozen acai alongside a range of tiramisu loaded drinks for the ultimate decadent dessert.

This hidden gem is home to the most incredible pastries, petit cakes, and macarons so pretty, you will almost not want to eat them.
Perfect as a gift or to treat yourself, grab a coffee and a treat or two and sit in the covered courtyard to enjoy!
Kent Street
Serving up delicious iced drinks, alongside Creamy Bingsu Ice, Belgian Waffles, gelato and more, Sip'N Chill is the place to go when you want something unique.

Khyber Pass
Just when you thought you had tried them all, Sugar Bae delivers the most delicious Brioche French Toasts, finished with flavour packed toppings like this amazing mango one, Crispy Dubai Chocolate, or the Banana Salted Caramel Brulee - yum! You'll also find incredible Bingsu and a wide range of special drinks to go with your dessert of choice.

Home to the double stuffed fat-caron, Le Macaron is the perfect treat any time of day, but are the perfect way to end a meal making them a delicious dessert option.
Indulge with delicious classic flavours like strawberry yogurt, or try something unique (calling all tea lovers, check out the Earl Grey flavour!).
Khyber Pass

If you haven't already, head to Sweet Treats and check out their delicious range of incredible desserts like their iconic chimney cones - hand rolled sweet pastry, baked and caramelized to perfection before being filled with creamy soft-serve ice cream.
They're also serving up fresh acai cans, layered with flavourful toppings, and hand made popsicles in a range of unique flavours.

It's simply impossible to go past Duck Island without stopping for a cheeky scoop (or two!). With an incredible range of unique and very kiwi flavours including all the classics and some seasonal, limited-edition flavours too, you can't go wrong with a visit to this hot spot.
We love the fresh and creamy boysenberry cheesecake and the indulgent Peacan Butter Cookie Dough, but cant go past their specials - check out this kiwi icon - Lolly cake! - there is something to suit all taste buds at Duck Island.

If you love a freshly made, crispy waffle cone, you wont be able to resist Movenpick, but this store also makes incredible hot waffles and crepes to satisfy those sweet cravings - perfect for a cold night!

You can't wander past Cinnabon without being enticed by the incredible aroma of freshly made cinnamon rolls being drizzled with their signature cream cheese frosting.
Enjoy them with classic flavours, or top with your favourite sauce, pecans or crushed OREO cookie pieces for extra delicious-ness.

Soft, fluffy and impossible to say no to, the incredible Greek Donuts at Lukumades are made fresh and hot to order, every time.
Whether you opt for the orignals rolled in cinnamon sugar, or topped with Honey & Cinnamon, or for something more decadent like the Bueno or Pistachio - these will have you returning time and time again. Plus, the doughnuts themselves are Vegan so perfect for those with dietaries.

And finally, no visit to Newmarket is complete without a stop at Westfield Rooftop. Head straight to Island Gelato and check out their seriously impressive range of unique flavours. From Grapefruit, Gin & Yuzu, to Feijoa Coconut Swirl, Plum & Coconut Pavlova or Biscoff Tiramisu, this is the place to visit if you're up for something out of the ordinary!
