From thin and crispy, to deep dish, single serve or even gluten-free, we’ve rounded up the best places to visit when the pizza craving is calling. These restaurants all offer their own unique twist on the crowd favourite, so if you are struggling to choose, why stop at one? Make a list and work your way through them all, finding your favourite flavours along the way.
If you love the smokey and crispy taste of a traditional wood fired pizza, but love a modern take on toppings, head straight to MAMA on Osborne lane. Made fresh to order and served crispy, hot and perfectly topped, we cant go past the Sobrasada, topped with Spanish cured sausage, their famous vodka sauce, peppers, smoked honey and mozzarella, or the Cavalo Nero pizza, complete with Cavalo nero crema, pea pesto, lemon ricotta and stretchy mozzarella – a perfect vegetarian option that is anything but boring. Top tip: If you are lucky enough to swing by at lunch, check out their range of Panuozzo sandwiches – pizza dough folded in half and fired in the oven before being stuffed with incredible fillings, the ultimate way to disguise a pizza as a healthy lunch in our opinion!

MAMA – Osborne Lane
If you’re craving a Detroit-style, deep dish pizza in all its doughy glory, head straight to Square Pizza. Just like the name says, the pizza’s here are square so whether you like a double crispy edged corner slice, or the centre piece with no crust at all, you’ll find your perfect thick slice here.
The flavour’s range from the classic Peperoni to the adventurous, with a Palusami Pizza packed with corned beef, taro leaves and coconut cream – If you’re up to try something new, you wont want to skip a visit here.

Square Pizza – 37 Remuera Road
Calling all traditionalists – if you haven’t paid a visit to Archie’s Pizzeria, what are you doing? Freshly made to order before being slung into the piping hot woodfire oven, you know these pizzas will come out crispy, smokey, and absolutely delicious. Choose from an extensive menu of toppings from Alla Puttanesca with chilli, capers and olives, or Mediterraneo with Pancetta, pecorino and rosemary – every bite will have you dreaming of booking that Europe trip. Plus, the friendly team can help with food allergies, so you can have the pizza’s gluten free on request.

Feeling like a social slice? Round up the family or some friends and head to the Westfield rooftop and enjoy some pizza at Something & Social. All the pizzas can be made on gluten-free bases, plus they can even swap out the cheese for dairy-free which is a win when dining with a big group. We love the pulled lamb pizza, topped with olives, red onion, feta, baby spinach, sundried tomatoes and tzatziki – its anything but traditional, but extremely delicious none the less!

Westfield Rooftop
This is truly New York style pizza – for a slice as big as your head, Sal’s should be top of your list.
Sometimes more is really more, and Sal’s does big pizza exceptionally well. But its not always about a whole pizza right? What about just a slice? Sal’s does both. So when you just want the one slice, or when you need to feed a hungry crowd, this is the place to go. You will find all the New York classics; big pepperoni pizza, buffalo chicken, or meatball pizza – but you wont want to miss the garlic knots. The perfect accompaniment to a fold-in-half-to-eat-it giant pizza slice, is of course more dough, slathered in garlic butter, and roasted in the oven to crispy, chewy perfection.

Westfield Rooftop
