Reading Time: 2 Minutes

Last Updated: August 2026

Say goodbye to the ordinary because Pic’s has taken two toast topping favourites and blended them into one delicious new creation. Introducing Pic’s Honey Peanut Butter, the sweet and salty spread we’re spooning straight from the jar.

Made with Pic’s signature freshly roasted peanuts, Honey Peanut Butter blends smooth peanut butter with South Island bush honey from Nelson-based Bio Honey for a rich, creamy spread that’s equal parts comfort and deliciousness.

1. Line a 20 cm x 15 cm tin with high sides with baking paper.

2. Add the brown rice malt syrup, butter or coconut oil, Honey Peanut Butter, cocoa and vanilla to a small bowl. Mix to combine.

3. Once smooth, add the desiccated coconut. Stir well, then transfer to the prepared tin and press firmly into an even layer using the back of a spoon.

4. Refrigerate.

5. Add the water, caster sugar, salt and gelatine powder to a medium saucepan. Whisk to combine.

6. Set it over high heat and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and cool for 5 minutes.

7. Once cooled slightly, whip on medium to high speed for 8 minutes until it starts to thicken slightly (like a soft meringue). Add the vanilla in the last minute.

8. Once thick, add the honey peanut butter. Fold through with a spatula just a few times to create streaks through the mixture. Pour it on top of the base and drizzle with a little extra peanut butter.

9. Set in the fridge for an hour or so and slice into pieces. This will last in the fridge, in a sealed container for 5 days.

Delicious!
