One of our favourite coffee spots is Teed Street Larder, with an incredible offering of cabinet food and a sunny courtyard, the Larder is ideal for a relaxing lunch break or catch up with friends. If you look closely, you'll also spot a life-like nature mural on the side of the building, by artist Jonny4higher. Before setting out to peruse the shops we highly recommend popping into Nonna for one of their famous pasta dishes, or pick from one of their freshly made Italian pastries. It is hard to go past the colourful and indulgent offering at &Sushi, well-known as one of the most 'Instagrammable' lunch spots in Newmarket, along with Bambina just across the road. If a sweet treat is on the mind, Petal Cupcakes is an indulgent little spot revered for its decadent cupcakes with an icing overload. Our top flavour pick is easily Salted Caramel. For Sunday Yum cha, we can't go past Pearl Garden and we recommend getting in early, as you'll find the restaurant booming on weekends - insider tip, it's hard to beat their delicious prawn dumplings.

An area always bustling with activity is Newmarket's Asian Food Plaza, a covered alleyway located between Teed & Kent Streets - here you will find fresh produce, fish, meats and a variety of Asian specialty grocery stores. This is a spot known amongst many locals and we recommend you try the Food Court for some authentic Asian fare.

With a range of cafes & eateries, along with some of Auckland's best shopping options from home interiors, to top fashion boutiques, Teed Street will satisfy most of your needs in one trip, before perusing the rest of Newmarket's streets.
