Newmarket Business Awards Announce Finalists

Auckland, New Zealand: Friday 27th May, 2016

The Newmarket Business Association (NBA) is pleased to announce the Newmarket Business Awards finalists for 2016.

This year’s judging panel includes business leaders Anne Norman (Pascoes Group), Stewart Sherriff (2Degrees), Jayne Atherton (Fairfax), Andy Hamilton (Icehouse), Michael Barnett (Auckland Chamber of Commerce), Wynnis Armour (AWF, Armour Consulting), Ian Gibson (Auckland City BMW), Rachel Dovey (Bayleys), Anthony Hoy Fong (Chef), Andrew Parsons (AUT) and Newmarket Rotary.

NBA’s CEO, Mark Knoff-Thomas says that the high calibre of entries and the amount of thought that had gone into them was truly outstanding.

“We were blown away at the quality of this year’s entries. Our panel of expert judges definitely had their work cut out for them to identify the finalists for each category. In addition, we have had over 3,000 votes for the People‘s Choice Award this year, a truly impressive result,” he adds.

The judges said they were delighted to be involved in the awards and were unanimous in their praise of the entries.

“We are very proud to support the awards and acknowledge the extraordinary people that contribute to the success of these Newmarket businesses,” said Rachel Dovey, Regional Manager at Bayleys, who are co-sponsors of the awards.

Managing Director of Auckland City BMW and co-sponsor, Ian Gibson said “I am certainly privileged to be involved with the awards this year; it’s not an easy task particularly as the quality and content of the entries received are of the highest standard.”

This is the fifth year the awards have been held. The winners of each category, and the Supreme Winner, will be announced at the Newmarket Business Awards evening at the Auckland War Memorial Museum on Friday 17 June.
