Liam, one of RUBY’s signature brands, has us eager for the autumnal months ahead with their new autumn/winter 2020 collection, Laura & Me.

The collection has the most heart-warming story behind it, beginning when Liam designer, Emily Miller-Sharma met her long-time friend, model and stylist, Laura Taylor. The two creative women became friends in high-school through their common penchant for art and design. Soon after, Laura moved back to Brazil, and although continents apart, Emily and Laura never lost touch, remaining inspired by one another’s creative work.

With Laura’s brief return to New Zealand, the two worked together to design Laura & Me, looking to create a collection with a “sense of harmony through discord - unlikely yet delightful pairings in colour, texture and silhouette”.

The stunning, refreshingly modern collection has a primarily green hue, exploring tones of cucumber, sage & moss. An unmissable print within the Laura & Me collection is the saturated, abstract watercolor print, sure to illuminate our wardrobes, and expresses the confidence of the two designers. The collection also hosts sleek silhouttes to make a statement in, heavily inspired by Thirties eveningwear, but can be worn effortlessly both day and night.

As we approach autumn and winter, contrast layering is a key trend which this collection is made for. We can continue the juxtaposition through styling the pieces in unlikely combinations: the Maas tweed blazer paired with silk, or any of the Thankyou pieces, which are slinky and light, paired with the knit tops or skirt.

Laura & Me first arrivals will be available from RUBY Newmarket, and online from Friday 14 February.
