Have you ever had an event sneak up on you and thought popping out to buy a dress you may not wear again would be a good idea? We are definitely guilty of this. But rather than having beautiful gowns being worn once and then just sitting in your wardrobe – Glamour are seeking out new ways to make things easier. Known for having an array of ball gowns, cocktail dress and stand out party pieces, they have quickly become a go-to for special event dressing. Inspired by the growing conversation around sustainable fashion, Glamour have launched a pre-loved pop-up.
Customers are able to bring in their Glamour pieces to be looked at and then sold in-store and online on their behalf. You can then choose to receive a cash payout once it has been sold in-store or online or receive a little bit more to use as a as a credit on the next purchase made in-store.
“It really has ended up being quite a natural progression for the business. Initially we were concerned it could confuse our clients or even dilute the brand, but we listened and we now have delivered what they asked us for” explains Owner and Director Charone Mackessack.
“We have created a beautiful space in-store and online where we can on-sell coveted pieces on their behalf and it all works together seamlessly.”
Sustainable fashion is quickly becoming a core component of consumers wardrobes and as a result, fashion retailers must ensure they are listening to these needs to provide a solution. This also means that consumers are increasingly understanding the importance of recycling and buying pre-loved clothing.
