Reading Time: 1 Minute
From the 17th November the OuterLink will no longer travel between Newmarket and St Lukes through Epsom and Mt Eden.
It will however continue to travel between St Lukes, Mt Albert, Pt Chevalier, Herne Bay, the city centre, Parnell and Newmarket and back again. The changes to the OuterLink are to improve reliability and speed for passengers. These changes also mean bus driver changeover will no longer occur while passengers are on board, and buses will no longer need to wait at Victoria Park or Albert Park. Passengers will also not need to change buses at Victoria Park.
But fear not, the 64 Route (which only costs $0.01 cent, YES ONE CENT!) is being extended to run from St Lukes. This bus currently runs from Kingsland via Valley Road, Mt Eden Village, and Boston Road but from 17 November will include St Lukes via Sandringham Road. This service will run every 12 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes in the evening. The 1 cent fare will continue until Maungawhau Station opens in 2026.
