Auckland’s largest Italian street festival is returning to Newmarket on October 20th, bringing with it a celebration of music, food, design and Italian culture.
The Italian Festival season in Auckland begins on the 17th of September with an array of Italian events throughout Newmarket. The largest and highly anticipated event is the Festival Italiano that is hosted in Newmarket and kicks off on October 20th from 11am until 5pm – the event runs through Osborne Street, Kent Street, The Rialto Centre as well as part of Teed Street.
These areas will be closed off to traffic, making the streets pedestrian friendly to allow festival-goers the opportunity to become immersed in the days activities, pop-up restaurants, stalls and car displays. It is safe to say that Italian food is one of our favourite cuisines so we’re expecting plenty on offer at Festival Italiano.
Guests will experience a wide range of al fresco dining restaurants and eating areas, an Italian style market with over 40 stalls and as well as food, there will also be live music and entertainment. The kids will have a blast as well with a speciality kids pavilion, spot prizes and plenty more on the day.
