Easter is almost upon us, and although our original long weekend plans may be cancelled, there are plenty of ways to celebrate and keep yourself and the kids entertained from home. We have rounded up a few of our favourite Easter recipes, along with some fun kids crafts and activities for you to add to your Easter itinerary!
Easter Baking
Welcome all the sweet treats over the weekend with these delicious recipes!

Hot Cross Buns
Fill the house with the smell of freshly baked hot cross buns with Little & Friday’s crowd-pleasing recipe. Make sure you set a bit of time aside in the morning and work up a good appetite as you’ll be going back for seconds (and thirds) they are that tasty!
Homemade Easter Eggs
Hop into the kitchen with the kids and make your own Easter eggs – Whittaker’s have shared a fun recipe to try at home which only require 2 ingredients; real eggs and chocolate. Find it here.
Once they have set, grab some paint and decorate the shells!
Easter Egg Rice Bubble Nest
Countdown have lots of quick and easy Easter recipes available on their website – we think these easter nests are ideal for the kids to whip up without making too much of a mess!
Easter Crafts
To keep the little ones busy and for those young at heart, Easter crafts are the perfect activity to fill in the weekend.
Easter Colouring Competition
Smith & Caughey’s are running an Easter colouring competition for kids, which can be downloaded from their website here. Colour in (if you don’t have a printer, it can be done digitally) and submit online to be in the draw to win an Easter prize pack.
Seed’s Easter Crafts
For a whole range of crafts, the At Home with Seed online page has a heap of downloadable Easter activities from word searches, bunny face masks and memory cut-outs. Ahead of Sunday, get the kids to make one of Seed’s DIY Bunny Kits to leave out for the Easter Bunny to fill up with treats!
