A Day in the Life of Michaela Kiwara of Clear Skincare Clinic

7AM I get up to cuddle my gorgeous daughter while I make her breakfast and get her ready for kindy. Next up is a shower and my skincare routine. It’s incredibly simple but so important both morning and night; cleanse, serum, moisturise and of course final step (and one of the most important!), sunscreen.

9.30AM I arrive at our fabulous Newmarket clinic. Once we have completed our safety and sanitising checks, we turn on all the specialist skin and laser hair removal equipment and begin with a team meeting where everyone is amped to begin the day.

10AM Our first clients of the day start arriving. We take the time to greet regular clients and get to know new clients, allocating each treatment room. We offer advanced skin treatments, tailored skin journeys to help treat acne and scarring, hydration of the skin, anti-aging and also pigmentation and redness treatments, laser hair removal, teeth whitening and so much more!

11.30AM As one of New Zealand’s most experienced skin, acne and laser hair removal clinics, training is incredibly important. We use the most advanced technology, and my role is to ensure the team is continually upskilled and across the latest advancements in laser hair removal and skin care.

12PM I love to try and save money, however working in Newmarket means I’m always tempted by the array of delicious coffee and lunch spots. An Allpress from Little Nuffield is my go-to – I love supporting local.

1PM – 3PM I use this time to call clients and check how their treatment was, see if they need anything additional, check forward appointment times and make sure they are happy with their skin journey.

4PM We often need to restock our display shelves at this time and check what products I will need to order in, both from our skincare and make-up range.

6.30PM It’s closing time. We have a strict sterilisation routine of the entire clinic where every treatment room is turned down and ready for a new day tomorrow.
