The terrarium craze is certainly not a new phenomenon. It was perfected by the masters of obsession, the Victorians. The Victorians were big on collecting and like many of the era, Nathaniel Ward was having difficulty keeping his beloved fern collection alive in the polluted London air. He solved the problem by protecting them within miniature glass houses…terrariums!
In this two hour workshop, you will learn the basics of planting your own miniature glass house full of stunning succulents and ferns alike! Florist and terrarium-maker extraordinaire Annie O will teach you how to choose the best plants for your home or office and she’ll pass on her best plant-based wisdom for you to find plants that best suit your lifestyle.
Over the course of the workshop, Annie O will make and style a terrarium before you create your own mini terrarium to take home. Annie O will also touch on how to keep wall planters looking fresh and what plants work best. Annie O recommends that some garden gloves may be needed for those who don’t like mud, and an apron for those who want to protect their clothes.
