The New Zealand Cheese School is coming to Auckland to work with Collected, and in this 2 hour workshop you will learn to make beautiful Halloumi cheese with our countries leading cheese artisans. Start your day off with a meet and greet, followed by getting stuck in and making your very own cheese.
During your time you with us you will add your non-animal rennet to your already prepared pre heated milk to make some coagulated milk solids.
Once this is set then you cut and stir, even add a flavour or two if you wish, followed closely by pressing.
During this process you have some free time where you will be shown how Ricotta is made and also get to taste some yummy Yoghurt and Mascarpone.
Once your Halloumi is nicely pressed we cook the Halloumi in its very own by product to set the cheese.
We will also cook some up so that you get to try some of these amazing creations.
All this is topped off with some Q + A to follow and at the end of it all you get to take your little cheese home to enjoy and share.
These workshops are suited to anyone including those without any experience, right through to an experienced home cheesemaker. They are a fun way to learn to make cheese at home, or hone your existing skills.
